"The Way You Look Tonight", a composition of Jerome Kern and Dorothy Fields, here played by the american jazz guitarrist Wes Montgomery in his album "Guitar on the Go", released in 1963.
@TheSystemOfGuitar fyi Tuck Andress of Tuck and Patti wrote an excellent in-depth analysis of Benson's picking style, u can find it on their hp, enjoy!
@TheSystemOfGuitar growing up in LA in the 60's a few minutes walk from The Lighthouse jazz club was great, got to meet everyone; living in Tokyo the past 40 years
I got to work with everyone. Sadly market has shrunken, groups can only play 250 seat rooms like Bluenote, Billboard and Cotton Club two 70 minute dinner shows per night. Benson hasn't been here in years, Pat comes maybe 2x a year. u can see who comes here check out tokyo metropolis listing section, ciao
@cliffworks4321 I have a friend from Texas who hangs out with Pat a lot...And it just so happens that George Benson was my brother's childhood friend and 1st guitar teacher...I remember him at my house when I was a kid, but never got a chance to sit with him...You got the chance to hang with both he and Pat...must feel amazing!
@TheSystemOfGuitar sacred geometry comes to mind when you hang with pat and listen to his concepts, I spent a week hanging with Benson in the 70's, jamming,
picking his mind, he demonstrated how he could duplicate anything he heard instantly, sang Bird's Just Friends solo as it played on a jukebox, he borrowed my old old ES 175 for a set, it sounded exactly like him, didn't sound like me at all! :-)
@TheSystemOfGuitar maybe Pat doesn't know or care what they prefer to eat, I know Pat, we're of Sicilian heritage and have distinctive tastes in cuisine :-)

@shreaderkeneter I love Pat Martino, he's one of the world's great players, but he can't pack Wes' lunch or George Benson's...never could....
