@plateshutoverlock The stupid thing was, it was the end of the day and the skool (spelled that way on purpose for the reason you are about to see) FORCED us to leave in this hellstorm some of us walked to/from school and we were being told to leave!. Everybody, including myself were frightened to death. It's amazing the were not sued into oblivion for that stunt! My mom reported seeing a tree down across one of the roads

Wow, be glad u were not hit by lightning! Anyway, back in the early 80s, when I lived outside of Philadelpia, I was sitting in 1st grade
class when I saw some really nasty storm clouds in the distance. Suddenly, they raced in at what
must have been a couple hundred miles an hour and a very violent thunderstorm started. There was
heavy rain, lightning and high winds that were knocking down trees.

That is some incredibly fast moving storm...less than a minute to go what looks like a mile or two. Wow!
