I have the massive honour of being able to say that this song is written for my sister who died in 1996. Richards step-father (Doug) was my brothers college tutor and mentor and when he wrote to him and told him of what happened, Richard gave us this and I will always love him for that.

and by the way..FORTH is a modern classic!!!!!!!!!

I was dissapointed at first, but after further listening it grew on me. All the songs on that album seem to start up slow, so patience is key. Rather be, I see houses, numbness and Vallium skies are my favorite tracks

my favorite the verve's songs next to On Your Own.. Still love it till this day.

"Forth" is interpreted by most as the poorest Verve album so far,... but i think it'll be looked upon in the future in a much more forgiving light. "Urban Hymns" is untouchable.

They always gave excellent value with b-sides! BSS cd-1 had So Sister and Echo Bass, BSS cd-2 had Lord I Guess I'll Never Know and Country Song and Sonnet had Stamped, So Sister and Echo Bass! And they're all bloody great too!
