This actually aired! (and made the gag reel) I was not hung over -just totally out of breath.
I remember sitting down and realizing I forgot my earpiece. I ran the three buildings to my desk to retrieve it. When I ran back I heard "On in 5..4..3.."
I was so out of breath that my eyes were tearing. I did my best to cover, but you can see the results- it is the most ridiculous thing that ever happened to me - LIVE on the air.
It still makes me laugh remembering that day.

As I said elsewhere, I culled this clip from an old KCBS gag reel that a friend of mine had given me many years ago.
I think without knowing the backstory (and given this was right after New Years Day) you can understand people thinking you were hung over. My apologies!
