Dr Oliver Florica is an advanced laparoscopic surgeon working in Sydney. Over several years he has built up an extensive experience with the Visiport trocar, using the trocar for visual entry without insufflation in a wide range of general surgical laparoscopic procedures. To date, he has used the trocar in over 700 patients ranging in weight from 10 to 200kg. It usually takes him less than one minute to insert the Visiport trocar from skin incision to full abdominal entry.

Dr Florica believes the Visiport trocar offers a number of advantages over hasson entry:

• Ease of insertion
• Enhanced visualisation
• Shorter operating time, and
• Reduced risk of port site herniation
