@DeconAtlantic I can't comment on the Beast, but I'm planning on checking them out, also. I've read that they're very similar. You might consider going to the Walking Co. Store, and step on their Aetrex Lynco computerized orthotic prescriber (not sure what it's actually called). It'll measure the way you're distributing pressure on your feet and prescribe the appropriate insert for your foot. It works and while they may seem expensive, they're totally worth it.

These are the best shoes I've ever owned. I'm on my second pair, and will likely continue buying them and their successors for years to come (forever, if they keep makin' 'em!). These, coupled with Aetrex Lynco orthotic inserts, have worked miracles for my abused and injured ankles (The damage has not healed in 5 years...could be permanent). Despite having dedicated New Balance shoes for both tennis and racquetball, I end up wearing these for all sports, because they're the most comfortable.

Curious if it's better or worse than Brooks' Beast running shoe? I have flat feet and when I run I strike on my arch and lift off on my big toe. I'm looking for a good running shoe any advice would be great.

how much?
DeconAtlantic - thanks for the question!
The 1123 (current version 1124) is very similar to the Brooks Beast in regards to support (motion control) and cushioning.
The 1123 is neither better nor worse, than the Beast - it's all a matter of perspective. Mostly notably the fit between both shoes is different.
The 1123/1124 is built on the New Balance SL-2 last which makes it a bit wider from heel-to-toe than the Brooks Beast (and, generally wider than almost any other running shoe out there).
