  • I have the D3000 with the 18-55mm Standard, Say I wanted to shoot long range Outdoor Day/Night Concerts, the Sky at night, what lens would you recommend? Just something simple for a learner. Thanks. :)

  • @DaniSixxxx a long focal length lens like the nikon 55-200mm or 55-300mm should suit your needs. For star and moon photography, be sure to bring a tripod and set the aperture to around f22. As a bonus, the 55-200/300mm lenses are also great for portraits and action photography.

  • i have the rebel xs. is this a lot better? it's a great price and im looking to start doing serious photography!! Please help!

  • @BreastfeedingNatural no need to upgrade. I would keep the canon xs and improve your photography as much as possible with that camera. When you feel you need to upgrade, take a step up to a mid-tier camera, like the canon 60d / nikon d7000.

  • Does it take hd video

  • @Musicmixer1994 no, the D3000 does not record video. Still a great camera, though.

  • @Musicmixer1994 noooooooooooooooooooooooooo! dammit altho nikon did say that it can take hd video if they made it that way!!!

  • I've had this camera since February of 2010 and I absolutely love it. I have absolutely no desire to upgrade to a new camera body anytime soon because I'm so happy with my D3000. It's my very first DSLR and I've built up a nice collection of different lenses. I highly recommend this camera to anoyone, especially if you're new to DSLR cameras. I've learned so much on it. Even when I do eventually upgrade to a newer Nikon body, I will never get rid of my D3000.

  • @klausboedker : wierd.. I was looking exactly for the opposite. I think photos without strong colours more beautiful, and every place I see they say Nikon has stronger colours than Canon. I also saw that the Canon eos 1000D has a "color tone" in its setting. I would like to know if this Nikon has something similar, to let it less vivid.

  • Ive had my D3000 since christmas, and although i'm fairly familiar with cameras in general, this was my first DSLR, and i didnt know this had the features you mentioned in this video.lol ^_^

  • I never read any manuals... so I never knew this camera had all those features... so thanks:)

  • Thank you. unlike that annoying afro guy your input is informative and easy to understand. More of the same please... Mitch. Scotland.
