Every train was shot at or near Guadalupe, CA on August 23rd, 2011.
1) Pacific Surfliner 798 enters the town of Guadalupe with a Cascades NPCU and a Dash 8-32BWH for power.
2) The Southbound Guadalupe Turn (symbol LOF66) with a couple SD70ACes is about to leave the Guadalupe Yard. It takes a while for the crossing circuit to recognize that the train is moving but I think in the end the approaching Coast Starlight 14 is what triggered the crossing gates. Great notching up sound of the SD70ACes in my opinion.
3) Caught up with the Guadalupe Turn just in time as it roared through the Brown Rd. crossing.
4) It was my first time catching the Santa Maria Valley Railroad (SMV) delivering cars to the Guadalupe yard. The GP9 still sounds great! When they stopped to line a switch, I turned to the UP tracks because I knew the southbound Coast Starlight was right around the corner. In the end, when the SMV train was beginning to disappear, the Amtrak showed up.
Two meets in one day...not bad on the northern part of the Santa Barbara Subdivision!
@Amtrakdavis22 so ryan was right! thanks JT!
