i kind of see what you mean. but i don't see how liking "black" music is ignorant(?). i like all good music, i like black music because it sounds black and latin music because it sounds latin.(i'm white btw)

Ignorance is to see instead of hear in concern to Music. Ligth is faster than Sound. Talking about Diferences instead of Equality is a way to don´t achieve our objectives, giving others the power to control our Wish.If you don´t think about it... you are already there! There´s then no need to question or fear or color, or non-color.
MUSIC ist that stagium where nothing else matters, just the feelings you are trying to express at this moment in time, specially in Jazz Music.
that's not racist man! the afro americans had (has?) a big jazz scene of "their own", wich has a different sound than typical "white" jazz. and africans are built a little different than white people phisically. ergo if for example an afro american musician playes the same notes/song as a person of different culture and race; they will sound different. that's a fact, not ignorance.
