A Dream Come True ~ Ch. 195

Happy times come and go. The best thing to do is enjoy them while you have them. In the quickest second, they'll disappear. But none of it really matters when happiness is near.

I woke up the next morning and immediately realized that Abigail was not in the bed with me. I looked around but she was not in the room. I started panicking. I was still paranoid from those dreams. I quickly rushed out into the living room and everyone turned to look at me. Everyone except Abigail. She was not there.

Nick and Keri went back to caring for their baby and I turned to Jonathan. "Where's Abigail?"
"She said she was going out for a bit."
"Did she mention where she was going?"
"No but she said she would be back soon."
"Oh, okay."

We started eating breakfast and I was starting to get increasingly worried about Abigail. What if she was leaving me? No one else seemed to be worried though. This was killing me. The door opened and in walked Abigail. I quickly stood up and ran over to her, immediately pulling her into a hug.

"I was so worried, Abigail."
"I just went out for a little. It's nothing serious, Joe."
"I just... I was worried."
She giggled and pulled away. "I'm fine. Sorry I'm late for breakfast."
"Come here and sit then."
I watched as Abigail ate her breakfast. If she left me on my wedding day, I wouldn't know what to do. I would fall apart. "Joe, why do you keep staring at me?"
"I love you so much."
She giggled. "I love you, too."
"I want to take you out for a picnic. What do you say?"
"That sounds great, Joe. We should invite Nick and Keri, don't you think?"
I smiled. "Sure, that sounds great."

Marie helped me fill up a large basket with all the food we would eat. She put it in the basket and I thanked her. I grabbed Abigail's hand and we walked down to Nick's house. Abigail knocked on the door and they opened. We asked them if they would come with us and they agreed.

Nick held Rose as Keri and Abigail chatted in front of us. I decided to talk to Nick for a bit. "So how is everything? How are you and Keri doing?"
"We're great. She was very excited about the house you bought us. I can't thank you enough for that."
"No, it's fine. I was glad to find somewhere where you could live. I felt bad for dragging you and your family out here."
"We were glad to come with you."
"Well, that was a way to pay you back. Thank you for being so supportive."
"You and Abigail deserve each other."
The girls started laughing in front of us and I smiled. "I wonder if they're talking about us."
"I don't know." He shifted Rose onto his other shoulder. "Probably."

We reached the meadow and I laid out the blanket. We all sat down and started chatting. The girls separated from us again and I was left to talk to Nick. Rose was sitting on the blanket, moving around and playing with the blanket under us. She was so adorable. The way Nick smiled around his daughter was sweet.

"I bet it was fun being the Prince."
I slightly laughed. "I guess it was. But I'm glad it's all going to be over soon. I can thank Abigail for that. It was like killing two birds with one stone."
"It shows just how much you love her."
"I can't wait to marry her. Now I know how you felt when you were getting ready to marry Keri."
"It was amazing. One of the best days of my life; Rose being born was the other." He lifted Rose onto his lap and she started playing with Nick's shirt.
We both laughed. "I can't wait to have a family. I see how happy you and Keri are and I want that so much."
"You'll be very glad when you do."
"I'm already glad to start with. I can just imagine how happy I'll be later on."
Rose giggled and I smiled at how cute she was. I picked her up and she played with the necklace I was wearing. "She likes it."
I laughed. "She does."

We had lunch when the sun was beating down in the middle of the sky. We all laughed and ate. I watched as Keri fed Rose and it was the cutest thing. Spending the day with them was always a good time. Abigail sat in my lap and Keri leaned into Nick while holding Rose. It was so nice to just be like this.

The sun started to set and we picked everything up. I carried the basket and walked with my arm around Abigail's small waist. Keri was carrying Rose and Nick also had his arm around her. This really was a great way to live. No castle, no angry parents, no attachment to the castle. I was free.

We said goodbye to the happy family and walked into Jonathan's house. We didn't live in the other house just yet. I wanted us to marry first. We went into the bedroom and I was happy to be alone with Abigail. She changed into her nightgown and god, was she beautiful. I walked towards her.

Will Joe and Abigail finally be happy together forever? Will Nick's happy life stay?

I really don't know what I'll post next after this story but I'll definitely try. Comment please.
