Thank you, Maurice! It's nice to know a little of the history of the song. And it is indeed wonderful to see you, the composer, performing it, and with Scythian backing you up. Without a doubt the song will live on--I've been hoping for some time to have it played at my wedding (whenever that day comes). ;)

Cheers Kirsten. I would like to recognise the role of Gerry O'Sullivan the Irish piper in bringing this tune to America from Ireland a good few years ago.It was then recorded by Joanie Madden and Cherish The Ladies, followed by Natalie McMaster,Sythian and quite a few other artists.I am just happy that someone captured myself playing it after 33years or so and that the tune will continue to live on.Maurice.

Maurice, if you're reading this, please know that I find this song to be truly the most beautiful piece of music I've ever known of.

Dad, it gets me every time, love you lots, Aiv xx
This must be the most beautiful tune I have ever heard. Moving, emotional...just incredible. Thank you for posting. I saw Maurice and Scythian perform this tune this weekend in Milwaukee and couldn't stop talking about it. My daughter met Maurice in Chicago at Gaelic Park Irish Fest...what a privilege. She heard the tune this morning and loved it too.

The sincerity with which Scythian play this tune of mine really moves me.
Many thanks lads. Maurice

@MauriceLennon Maurice, it was fantastic hearing you play with both Scythian and the Screaming Orphans in Cleveland. Not only was it a treat for the two bands (both bands were giddy about playing with you!), it was a treat for all of us in the audience. Thank you so much for sharing your music with everyone.
