This video was taken with one of the first VHS Camcorders ever made so it's a little blurry. The fire is of a hotel on the West Gate road back sometimes in the early 80's. Fire Departments around the area including, Limestone, Caribou and Loring AFB. Loring also used Crash fire trucks to help put out the fire. The fire was out in the country so it was hard to get water to it.

  • I was stationed at Loring from 1975-1979. When I first saw the video, I thought it looked like the Skyline Motor Inn. I lived there for almost a year, with my first wife, while we waited on base housing. Damn, does that bring back memories.

  • Yes it is the Skyline Motor Inn...or was.

  • Where was this located? I was at Loring '69-'72 and don't remember a hotel in Limestone. Thanks

  • It was on the West Gate Road. By the Credit Union. 1?2 way between the West Gate and Rt 89

  • I remember when this burned down. It was around 87 or 89. I lived on base, but my mom used to live here. It was the Skyline Inn. Thankfully, she moved to Minot a couple years before.

  • That was about the time I was at Loring. Thanks for sharing.
