Many Irishmen fought on the Union side in the American Civil War. We kept it going. Some on the South side as well but not as many because most of the Irish immigrants went to Northern Cities. Paddy's Lamentation music video by me :D
@TheScrambles1 Thats true. Hence the reason you had all kinds of Irish militia units from the Shannondoa valley. Lots of Irishmen in Virginia because they didn't get the know nothings down in the south like up here.
@100msw the reaces that fought for the union was the gemans the polish and the irish and you know what they all had in commen.....they all went to new york scots were in the south because the south is none catholic and the scots are not catholics
The irish in the civil war..are you having a laugh..it was the Ulstermen fought and fought bravely in the American civil war. Trying to rewrite that histoy too? And it was the Scots and the Ulster Scots who first and foremost emigrated to America ..the Irish went later.
@TheScrambles1 I think your head is scrambled, Ulstermen settled in the south , check your history! Germans and Irish catholics were the bulk of the union army!
