Many Irishmen fought on the Union side in the American Civil War. We kept it going. Some on the South side as well but not as many because most of the Irish immigrants went to Northern Cities. Paddy's Lamentation music video by me :D

  • @100msw wtf u think this song is about?

  • @100msw like the carolinas and tennessee and kentucky and west virginia

  • @100msw the ulsters were already there and they referred to themselves as irish until the mostly catholic irish came, although they were descendants from scots/englishman, remember a little thing called the potato famine people from ireland were flocking to america in the thousands at the time, the famine was 1840 the war started in 1861, if your talking about the american revolution you'd b correct though, maybe you mixed up your wars, most of the ulsters settled in the back woods

Clips are from Cold Mountain as well as Gangs of New York :)

  • @TheScrambles1 Thats true. Hence the reason you had all kinds of Irish militia units from the Shannondoa valley. Lots of Irishmen in Virginia because they didn't get the know nothings down in the south like up here.

  • @100msw the reaces that fought for the union was the gemans the polish and the irish and you know what they all had in commen.....they all went to new york scots were in the south because the south is none catholic and the scots are not catholics

  • The irish in the civil war..are you having a laugh..it was the Ulstermen fought and fought bravely in the American civil war. Trying to rewrite that histoy too? And it was the Scots and the Ulster Scots who first and foremost emigrated to America ..the Irish went later.
