On Friday, May 16th, 2008, nearly 50 years after the famous swashbuckling actor Errol Flynn died in Vancouver, BC, I hopped into the back of a limosine and followed the route he took in the last few hours of his life.

We began downtown at the hotel he stayed at, and then to British Properties where he had been negotiating the sale of his sailboat. From there we returned back across the Lions Gate Bridge, and on our way towards the airport made an emergency stop at the home of Dr. Gould (Glenn Gould's uncle), where he died. From there we rushed to the General Hospital, to the old Morgue and finally at the train station where his body was shipped back to Los Angeles.

  • Zacatown: Thanks for the suggestion! I've been thinking of labelling the locations in the video ever since YouTube added that function last year. It's on my list of things to do!!!

  • Sorry, but the video seems to be more about you and whatever you hope to accomplish than Errol Flynn. You have also missed some key places. And really, a white limo?

It seems typical too of Vancouver to grasp at whatever celebrity may pass through town, and I live here. lol

  • Thanks, though I wish you'd added titles pointing out what was what. For instance, where is the home of Dr. Gould??

  • You have captured a feeling of the surreal here...most unique...thanks for posting. Errol was a favorite of mine and no one to this day has come close to projecting his on-screen essence. RIP Errol.

  • Interesting and curious, Michael. Are you a Flynn fan?
