a small nuance of Mister Wise in S.F. movie Screamers (1995)

---Third part of King Henry the Sixth, Act 5, Scene 6----

"I, that have neither pity, love, nor fear.
Indeed, 'tis true that Henry told me of;
For I have often heard my mother say
I came into the world with my legs forward:
Had I not reason, think ye, to make haste,
And seek their ruin that usurp'd our right?
The midwife wonder'd and the women cried
'O, Jesus bless us, he is born with teeth!'
And so I was; which plainly signified
That I should snarl and bite and play the dog.
Then, since the heavens have shaped my body so,
Let hell make crook'd my mind to answer it.
I have no brother, I am like no brother;
And this word 'love,' which graybeards call divine,
Be resident in men like one another
And not in me: I am myself alone."

  • @girl4mac4 I know.

  • Best scene!

  • This movie was based on Philip K. Dick's short story, "Second Variety"

    You might not know Philip K. Dick by name, but his books and stories were turned into a bunch of movies. Screamers, Minority Report, Total Recall, Blade Runner, etc.

  • hes got a teardrop tattoo.

  • @DieterLoginov I know you asked some time back but this is a good question. He meant richard was born breach, with his legs forward instead of his head. It was said that coming into the world feet forward, much like you go out of the world, was a bad omen.

  • @DieterLoginov - Henry VI, part 3 | Act 5, Scene 6 :

    "He is born with teeth!'

    And so I was; which plainly signified

    That I should snarl and bite and play the dog.

    Then, since the heavens have shaped my body so,

    Let hell make crook'd my mind to answer it.

  • I always cared less what critics say. Screamers was underrated classic. It looked like mix of Alien, The Thing, Pitch Black and Ghosts of Mars. In other words very nice, suspensful and unpredictable film. Peter Weller, Andrew Lauer, Jennifer Rubin and Roy Dupuis did a great job.

    I miss the 90's.

  • one of the best scenes in the movie, Roy's behavior in this movie made his part so great, his antisocial personality made him that much more of an adversary, such a great movie and very underrated

  • mitico film
