More work has been done to my Columbia Whizzer bike since the maiden voyage in September.

I rode the bike today, January 15, 2010. No trouble stopping this time. The clutch and brakes work great. The old H engine ran pretty well. I have done a lot of work since the maiden voyage video was taken. I took everything apart and refinished the frame and had the Springer forks chrome plated. I replaced the thumb control throttle / compression control with twists grips. I know the H engine originally had the thumb control, but I couldn't get used to it. This video is of the bike running on the stand. I received a lot of great technical advice from the motoredbikes.com forum, and Quenton Guenther in particular. My next steps are a drum brake on the front wheel, making the chain guard fit, adding a speedometer and finding a headlight and taillight. Of course, this old piece of history now violates moped laws in Ohio, so it will probably just sit until I figure it out.

It's too bad that these vintage motorbikes can't be licensed as mopeds in many states because they are over 50cc. I think there should be a grandfather clause for us old timers riding Whizzer bikes.
