Hugh Dancy as Buddy in Evening

Buddy Wittenborn has his heart gutted in "Evening." In my opinion, one of the best scenes in the film. SPOILERS if you haven't seen it! Sorry the quality isn't great.

This is such a powerful scene! His reaction to Ann's "It wouldn't work" is soooo brilliant. Dancy accurately registers the emotions his terrified character. It's where Buddy realizes his last hope [Ann] to live a "normal" life is gone. It's a prospect too terrifying to contemplate during this era when life as a homosexual was a most damnable prospect for anyone. Truly a powerful human drama.

This movie made me cry almost more than Titanic, I just don't know why. Buddy moved me so much. I just don't know why.

Ann was an idiot! If I was her, I would've loved Buddy and he would have been the love of my life and only him. That was the biggest problem with this movie,  Buddy loved her much more than Harris did.
