The BEAR CLAW DRYWALL REPAIR CLIPS are designed to replace a damaged section of drywall with a new section of drywall. The clip is superior to the thin metal repair sheets because it replaces the damaged section with a full 12.5mm piece of drywall instead of a flimsy metal patch. This helps to maintain the sound and fire integrity of the original wall. The BEAR CLAW DRYWALL REPAIR CLIPS work by using a series of "Claws" compressing into the existing wall. The clips tabs are used to make the face of the patch board perfectly flush with the face of the wall. Many of the repair products presently on the market use the back of the drywall to align the patch. Unfortunately, not all drywall is the exact same thickness and sometime the patches are either depressed or project past the wall. With the BEAR CLAW DRYWALL REPAIR CLIP a 12.5mm (1/2") piece of drywall can be used to patch 12.5mm (1/2"), 15mm (5/8") or 25mm (1") board equally well. How's that for versatility!

  • I will have to try the bear claw. I like the idea that it aligns the surface of the patch with the surface of the surrounding wall, although I have not had a problem with the style that aligns the back of the drywall materials. My concern with the bear claw is the tab that is on the surface. Does it creat a bump under the tape? If not then it may be worth using.

  • As the tabs are wafer thin it's not a problem, everyone is starting to use these.

  • Anyone ever hear of a hot patch. Damn i wouldn't do all that work for a whole less than three inches in diameter.

  • For a tiny hole like that? Meh, I'm not convinced. I'd have that hole patched in about 2 minutes or I'd be fired. Wouldn't have time to pull a bunch of clips out of my pocket.

I will say this, I like that you can use scrap to fix the hole.

  • Most plaster board , or "gib" board as we call it, is 9.5mm thick.

  • hardhats and safety vests to install a patch? Safety First!

  • good way to cut the hole and get a good fit.

  • What a smart Idea!!

    Love it.
