How to remove your factory stereo on a 2006 Trailblazer without the Bose system. It took me a while to figure it out. I really wish I had seen a video or something explaining the process of how to get to the factory stereo.
Well here's to all you good people out there that own a Trailblazer & don't know how to get to the factory stereo for easy removal. Now hopefully you'll save some money by installing it yourself as opposed to taking it to an Audio shop for them just to charge you for something you could've done with just 10 minutes of your time. Enjoy!!

On a side note remember to purchase the GM harness to retain the Chime with aftermarket stereos. You can purchase at Bestbuy, crutchfield or most Audio places can even order it for you. If you're on a budget you can even purchase online by doing a search or on ebay.

  • i put an aftermarket cd player in my trailblazer but for some reason it won't shut off with my car, it stays on even after the keys are out of the ignition and the door is opened...i just turn it on and off manually but any suggestions??

  • It sounds like you connected the ignition wire from the stereo to constant 12v power which is why it stays on. You have to connect that wire to your ignition power on your vehicle so it'll turn off whenever you take out the key. hope that helps.

  • Very good video and informative. Thank you. I got the job done, thanks to you!

  • Glad to hear! =)

  • Great video! a question,i have an -02 tb,and it,s not to easy to get those adaptor things for the chimes, what would happen if i went witout it? any ideas? thanx again

  • You would have to find all the wires for the power, remote, antenna, illumination. Alot of stuff. The clip just makes it that much easier. Try Ebay. That's where I bought mine.
