Building satellites isn't easy. They're complex, expensive, and not to mention hard to make! This is why whenever NASA makes a new satellite--like the MAVEN mission to Mars--its scientists and engineers do everything they can to make sure it's done right. One of the most important steps in this process is the design review, where everything is checked and double-checked to make sure the satellite is ready to build!

  • Good video - way over simplified and ignores the bureaucracy and the inefficiencies over why nothing ever gets done...

  • i like the "hitchhikers guide" style to this video

  • Anybody know what kind of accent the speaker has got?

  • @missmcpirate what I was jesting about is that the US does not use metric, not the other way around. We're all SI in Canada too. In the US they use English units.

Ah, whatever... I'm getting too technical. 'twas a poke of fun!

  • If only it were that simple to go from concept to launch, life would be good!

  • Gee I wish I was one of those smart people

  • @Bluenoser613 why cant we just use standard metric system..

  • Hey the video forgot to mention the important step to convert all units from metric, which the rest of the whole world uses, to the archaic english units. Thereby preventing crashing your expensive satelite in to the surface of Mars. A pretty important step... just sayin', cough, cough... Mars Climate Orbiter
