Here's an example of of Columbia's Screen Snapshots entries, in which we find Lon Chaney, Jr doing a bit of Lenny on the beach with the cast of the stage production OF MICE AND MEN, all the while being annoyed by Eddie Bracken.

Fascinating to watch Lon Jr pantomime, like watching his Dad in a silent.

I'm secretly wishing that Lon Chaney Jr would take off that uncomfortable, hot, white shirt on the beach!

Actually, "SCREEN SNAPSHOTS" began in 1920- each year was grouped by "series"...since this was part of "Series 27", that meant this was the 27th year the series was in production.

This is a 1947 edition of one of Columbia's famous "SCREEN SNAPSHOTS" series, which was produced theatrically from 1923 (around the time the studio was founded) thrrough 1958. By the '40s, the series was produced by Ralph Staub, and narrated by the future host of TV's "YOU ASKED FOR IT", Art Baker.
