i was working in Downtoan LA and heard this on the radio, I was about 5 blocks from it. I was about to go and check it out until a radio station said that it was canceled. i regret not going regardless.

i don't think bono is just refering to treligious differences in this song, it's about a vast number of things.
i think someone told Bono ,you can tell so much about someone by just by knowing where they live,what road they liive on or what sort of house they live. for instance if a person is likely to have good salary, he's likely to live in a good area in a good house

i believe that this song get's rid of all that, pre-judgement

It is talking about the religious differences in bono's home country: Ireland. The Protestant and Catholic backgrounds are crazy and familys are even split up because of it so he sings a bout where the streets have no name or where the religions have no place or no one belongs to a certain religion... ya know if you were wondering and multibuttnuggets stop commenting aboout someone that is obvoiusly much more talented and passionate than you
