Bob Nolan the writter was born in New Brunswick Canada.at age of 14 he and his dad moved to Arizona. Bob loved it and used to spend many hours just trcking around that area.in 1929 he arrived in Calif. sang around that area and worked as a Lifeguard durring the depression. he sang with the Pioneers for awhile then left. he was asked to sing with them again and he sang this song which was origionally called The Tumbling Leaves.the Sons were inducted into Country Hall Of Fame. thanks Bob
