Here's a video demonstration in florida of my Sifu, doing Wing Chun. Just the most incredible wing chun demonstration ever. Literally demonstrating a ton of advance techniques, and for those of you who've never seen it, there's more to wing chun then doing lousy low level chain punches.

  • A knee to the cojones would put a quick end to this foolishness.

  • I think some people have difficulty in separating "fighting" from "martial arts".

In this particular example the focus is on "art". Many martial arts are not designed for brawling on the street. Just appreciate them for what they are; artistic.

  • Fong's Wing Chun is absolutely terrible!!!!! He uses a lot of force and his weight is all over the place, not too mention sloppy technique also. Go compare to Leung Ting / Kernspecht and lineage Boztepe, etc - they relax like Yip Man did! Fong's Wing Chun is nothing like what Yip Man did, just compare to videos of him.

  • this my friends is what you call a bitch fight.

  • Okay, I believe you than ;-)

  • @dcboogie Then again it's a demonstration. In a real fight they would probably use their fast punches and actually apply some force. I believe you can easily knock some one out with wing chun. :)

  • no power, no knockout.

  • que chingados es eso!!

  • The vertical Punch for example,it detracts from the Practitioners natural balance, and the over focus on the Center line theory seems to rob the user of his many options. The blocks are cool, and alot of them work but many Wing Chun practitioners seem to focused on it and lack the principles of attacking correctly.

  • I like Wing Chun,I think some of its Principles are good but i think MMA fighting is more practical in a real fight where one is fighting against somebody from the streets. Its foundation, and balance to me seems better then Wing Chun, and its movements more natural. For Wing Chun to be realistic I think alot of it would have to be changed.

  • Just remember people that MMA is a sport when it comes down to it and sports have rules. The guys in the octogon are really fighting but its not a real fight. Not trying to take anything away from those guys because they are incredible athletes/fighters, but I don't buy into the notion that the MMA style is more "realistic" or "practical."
