@schmitzk48 You take Kathy a bit too seriously and she's the last person you should ever take seriously. I highly doubt she's in love with him, she just seems to play up the whole "he's hot, we should bone" schtick and rolls with it. They seem like really good friends and she flirts and teases him because it's funny (and considering their friendship I'm fairly certain she knows he's gay even if he's never publicly admitted it).
