@RichardElden Major may have presided over a sound economy when he first came to power but he soon buggered it up. Forcing hundreds of thousands of innocent mortgage payers to needlessly lose their homes when they could not keep up with the crippling interest rate charges he imposed on them.

Major's obsession with keeping us in ERM the mechanism for joining the EURO also ruined many small businesses who could not keep up their overdraft repayments. See John Major Black Wednesday.

He's done a bloody good job destroying a country that had free health care, supported it's neighboring countries and where the national wage was probably higher than in the UK. Well done Cameron for wiping out Libya as they knew it, just like Iraq they was no threat to other countries, no WMD's and just like Blair you went in with your flag and allies of Imperialism to loot, kill and destroy. Major’s Black Wednesday mess was no achievement. It trapped hundreds of thousands of mortgage payers in negative equity with many losing the roof over their head. It also cost the tax-payer billions and brought Labour to power for thirteen years. If David Cameron was a reputable leader he would not be proud of what John Major did for the country.
