  • If you capsize with a sail, is it difficult to right the kayak again?

  • There are two ways to do it. The easy way is to pull the mast and sail out from the deck while underwater then do a normal eskimo roll or roll with the mast and sail up after uncleating the sheet. This requires a long slow roll as the sail tends to drag throught he water. I usually use a pawalata roll which uses the full length of the paddle in an extended sweep.

  • Does anyone know if there are any kangaroos, dingos or tasmanian devils on the island?

  • There are no dingoes or devils on Flinders Island but there are many wallabies which are type of smaller kangaroo.
