From day 1 governments have been scared of the internet because they can't control it. SOPA and PIPA are the first shots across the bows to regulate the internet to their will. Next it will be porn or Anti this or that (anything) that THEY do not like and can grab the moral high ground on, until they bring the web to heel and feed us what they want us to hear.
