ok, i do not need sketchup. but what i do need is HELP.

I have installed l4d authoring tools (i own it), but, whenever i try to run the hammer tool i get an error saying:

Setup file 'gameinfo.txt' doesn't exist in subdirectory 'C:\Program Files \Steam\SteamApps\common\left 4 dead\bin\vconfig'.

Check your -game parameter or VCONFIG setting

can somebody help me fix this? ive tried reinstalling l4d and l4dA, ive also tried to validate the files, put gameinfo.txt into bin and that sketchup

Sorry dude, I have no idea why this error keeps coming up.

Have you tried reinstalling authoring tools?

When I try to install the plugins by going to Sketchup Plugins under the L4D authoring tools and go into the sketchup folder all I have is the valve_library folder -- the valve folder and other files are not there, any idea why or how to fix it?

With some of the latest patches, Valve took out the plugins. You may still find them online somewhere, but the Sketchup program is not needed to make L4D maps. Its just a nice secondary option. I would recommend to map entirely in Hammer.

yea i have the source sdk including all of the stuff inside (hammer), google sketchup7, L4D, and L4D authoring tools. when i launch the authoring tools and click hammer, it gets stuck loading hammer...any help??

Hammer gets stuck loading for me as well. It takes about a minute for me to load Hammer. Give it some time. Let me know.

hey i did this for l4d2 and every time i click on that box thing at 0:40 i click on hammer world editor and it says i need to configure the set up can you help?
