This 7-ton world class instrument is open for the public to play Saturdays at 10:30AM, Wednesdays and Fridays at noon at Kerrytown Market and Shops in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It's fun for all ages!
Amazing! Well, the "American Freedom" does NOT exist in the San Francisco Bay Area! There is a 24 bell chime at the UCB in Berkeley, a 49 bell carillon at Grace Cathedral and another carillion at Stanford -- and NONE shall open up for the public to play! They are all snooty and very "protective" as not to advance this art to the general public! Good for you Kerrytown for opening this up to the general public!
I've passed by the carillon mechanism several times, but I haven't ever played it yet. I'm sure it's quite interesting to play that thing.

This is so cool. I wish there was a carillon around my area where people can just come and play...
