A discussion of what can be seen today at the former border between east and west Germany. Many of the installations are still visible.
Then continuing east over the Elbe river.

Wilkowo, I end up opting to spend the evening in the very pleasant Czym Chata Bogata restaurant in Wilkowo.

@elvisdoeskfc I said several times in the 1980s that if the wall came down (which was not very likely then of course) that a new one would have to be built to stop the immigrants which would follow.

I have never been on that road! I have only been to Hamburg by train - never in the car!

It was in the north of Germany on the A24 route between Hamburg and Berlin.

I remember the checkpoint partially when I passed it in sommer 1988 with my Parents. just awesome...
