  • @aaronpourazar wow perfectionist

  • Main differences are due to this early build of Dreamcast Shenmue originating from the Saturn. These are running on an early version of the Shenmue 1 engine.

Also, the Shenmue 2 engine made full use of the DC's powerful texture compression. That explains the "greyness" of Hong Kong in these vids.Had Shenmue 3 gone ahead on DC we would have seen the DC pushed even further. Games like LeMans, Quake 3, Skies of Arcadia, Outrigger boasted much higher poly/texture detail than early DC games.

  • really awesome!!

    i love shenmue !!!

    best game 4ever

  • its a shame we dont have this video in better quality. it shows some of the earliest versions of the hong kong environments. they were almost completely changed in the final version of the game. it would be really interesting if someone involved in the development of the game explained why they made all these changes.

  • looks awesome :)

  • Shenmue is perfect! ^_^ Interesting video.

  • Man the shit Yu Suzuki scraped is quiet amazing that fucker wanted Shenmue to be perfect 7 versions of shenmue 1 was made before it was released.

  • I wish I could play this build of Shenmue 2.. It would be fun to see all the differences.
