@nintendogs16 Trust me, the whole lot of us definitely had it better in the late 90s, these days its nothing but big business rehashing old ideas and giving us the same old crap every year. Platformer-type games are a rarity these days, overtaken by first person shooters and role-playing games.

Sure these games are alright, but they all become stale after a while... I'm not much of an online gamer either, I'd rather it be me and four friends duking it out playing Smash Bros. in the living room!

@AndyNolastname Having access to everything ONLINE isn't all there is. Being able to play any games on any consoles doesn't mean anything if you can't appreciate what has been done before. Most games we see these days are mostly recycled retro stuff with adapted graphics anyways.

It is still nice to see some kids catching on NES games and being able to judge newer stuff with that perspective.

Ps. Cell phones in my opinion only make things worse, people now have less free time than ever.

@IsItTheBagel Well it depends on which way they go backwards, because arguably the old games like this one had a lot of original ideas and class because the imagination was needed to fill in the blanks. If these companies are degenerating then that could be the bad backwards instead of the originality backwards. This is just my opinion not saying others are wrong but it is what I think

@LD75network I wholeheartedly agree the beginning really scared me when I was a kid almost made me not want to play, then I did later in life and realized how hard and masterful this game was...this game was very ahead of its time don't you think?

This song used to scary me when I was a kid. I do have to say that Metroid (NES Version) had some pretty creepy songs.

@datasoluble he's saying that NOW its bad. there are seven renditions of COD, many of Battlefield, metroid's being remade game by game, SSB had a remake. he's saying that all of the good original games are being remade into regurgitated piles of shit just so that gamer's won't have to adapt their gameplay style for anything.

@Spectacular66 So if the big companies are just recycling the same old crap, it's ok. There is a place for inventive people to compete, if they aren't being taken seriously by EA or whatever.
