The controversy was during the 1987 Follies because I had dropped out of school just a few days before... right before the show started, I went into the library to ask the Principal's permission to still sing, even if it wasn't to compete (I had won first place solo vocal my freshman, sophomore, and junior years) - BUT HE SAID NO! So, when they came to my name on the program and said I wasn't able to be there, I stood up and jumped up on the stage with my guitar anyway. Ahhhh... good times. :-)
