boys don't cry meant a lot to me as well, saw it and it still gets me every time I see it (to much to relate to I guess) I didn't find this offensive to that though, he could have, if he went farther. But I find that it's the comments that are worse and more offensive.
And just for the record. Brandon Teena is not a woman who pretended or went around trying to be a man. HE wasn't a woman or female at all, He was a guy with male pronouns. He was just born in a body that didn't match how he felt.

Oh please. Brandon Teena was a criminal, not for who "he" was but for what he did. He was amoral, a thief, a liar... I am very surprised he wasn't an addict. Or was he? Yes, murder is bad no matter who it happens to, but if the film is all you know about Brandon, you don't know Brandon at all.
