@justintylercarey Sorry, my fault. I didn't mean the character Justin but the actor.
I only got interested into the show again a few days ago and before that I saw it, don't know when but after it came out in Germany. Anyway back then the kid seemed like one of those insufferable fashion queens but it looks like there is much more to the character than that. I admit I haven't seen many gay roles with such a behavior where the character wasn't an ass.

@inotaishu1 Well, yeah. But the only thing is that "him turning out straight" wasn't the moral of the story. There were times where he thought he was straight, and times where he acted out in order to fit in. This is one of the only times, if not the only time where a gay male teenager is a lead in an entire HUGE series of cable television shows -- and homosexuality is addressed. It was revolutionary.

@justintylercarey Actually I think it would be more "important" if he turned out straight. You know in showing that straight guys have a lot of variability too. I came across many straight guys with his physique albeit none with hie behaviour. I remember one guy about his age who looked feminine, however he was lead-singer of a self-proclaimed rockband so it was kind of his thing to stand out as much as possible.

I am not sure but when they casted for the show they probably cast him because of his behaviour. I mean, how many 11 year olds are that good?
