Day 4 - - 7-29-10 The Bull fire is now far enough away from Kernville not to be a threat, especially if wind conditions continue as predicted. note: the video playing is of day 1 - - 7-26-10. 8 homes were lost and thousands of acres burned. Ty to all Firefighters, Rangers and volunteers on all levels that protected as best they could the entire community. - J. Warner airlandsea.tv
Day 3 now. The fire is out of control. over 17,000 acres have been burned with no sign of containment in the near future. The fire is basically heading North and East of Kernville.
Day 2. 7-27.10 The Bull fire has now grown to 6,000 + acres. Contiines to grow. emergency evacuation numbers- 760.376.6733. 10 air tankers and 8 helicoptors are doing thier best. Over 1,000 fire fighters are on scene. This is going to be a nightmare for the Southern Sierra's. jw

the fire started near Riverkern around 2pm. Just a few miles form Kernville..Expanded into 2,000 acres and five homes lost in just hours. jw

I was there today up in the Kern river and it started as a small fire and it seemed as though they had it under control as it stopped for a bit but then out of nowhere it got out of hand in mere seconds. It started to climb down the mountain and was right across the river from us when we got evacuated. That campsite is probably in dust now. : /
