Frankly speaking, based on what I see here in Thailand, few western people come with respect and understanding. Thailand is simply an excellent destination for their low-budget trip, and for those who like seeing whores.

That's why we don't really like farangs.

I agree and is very true of your typical Bangkok tourist, I much preffered spending time in northan Thailand away from the tourists and made some really good friends with some Thai families.

i stayed in bangkok-thailand for 8 months back in 87. i love the people and the food are a gift from heaven. in my second life, i want to be born as thai... long live the king! kawp khoon mak khrap!!!!

Boring!!!!!!! Act like as child! Why don't you go to your own country and cook like this ? Let see your government allow you to cook on street like as Thailand did. Thailand the land of freedom. The people can do what they are like to do so. Make sure that if you go back to your own country have some respect to Thailand culture. Don't insult Thailand country when you are go back to your own country.

@Jingkrub Wow, ouch that really hurt. I am 15, live in Thailand and I am a westerner. You can certainly not like those farangs but why do you have to stereotype westerners and dislike them all. I try so hard to be respected by thai's, I have learnt some thai, learnt a lot about thai culture yet I just know 50%+ look at me and think, stupid farang, just comes for prostitutes and cheap booze.

I agree, for the most part Americans and Brits are disrespectful towards the Thai people, especially in places like khao san rd where it's just a big drunk party. But Usually Canadian's and Australian's adapt better, and are liked in Thailand. I must say though the Khao san pad thai is the best.

why do some people come on here and slag off what other people get up to when there over there? like the way they travel is so much better! to the Thai's we're all Farangs they don't like you any more then the next man!
