"Rainbow" by Torben Kaas from the album "On the Other Hand" ( gateway music 2009 )

Torben Kaas is a new exciting name on the Danish folk scene. With acoustic guitar and harmonica, he takes us back to the colourful environment around Greenwich Village in New York, in the early 1960s.
Torben Kaas shows his versatility as songwriters on his excellent debut album On the other hand. Songs that just as well could be recorded one afternoon in New York City, many years ago.

Latest :
- I have come through the eye of the needle with DR's playlist committee, which means that I am playlistet with "Love Philosophy" and "What a Night" from my new CD. The songs will the be heard on Danish National Radio

- My song "Rainbow" has been chosen to come with the CD "Going Back Home" which is released from Baltimore MD, USA in mid-March 2010. The CD contains selected folk songs from around the world, and can be purchased through several network sites. Including Itunes.

- Freddy Celis, Rootstime, Belgien, Oktober 2009 : The music that Torben Kaas brings, is actually very "sixties-oriented" and the reference to Bob Dylan is obvious. Simple guitar songs with narrative texts, only interrupted by a brief musical interlude on the harmonica.
The American folk tradition is reflected in almost all songs and leans heavily to the music as we know it primarily from Woody Guthrie, Hank Williams, Lead Belly and Robert Johnson and Bob Dylan, the musical role model.
While he, over the years, he has moved further and further away from this basic work, we can say that Torben Kaas still on the same good old path.
Because "Bob" has gone other ways, we believe that today's music scene really needs to find a place for this new "Dylan from the far north": Torben Kaas.

- Francois, Rootsville, Belgien, Oktober 2009 :
Embedded between the Skagerrak and Kattegat, is the country which, in the Viking Age was ruled by Harald Bluetooth. Besides Carslberg and Tuborg, which Denmark is famous for, there is the statue of the Little Mermaid, inspired by the story of Hans Christian Andersen.
The country also has a rich tradition of culture, music. And we're not just talking about the epic folk songs or hymns, but we are talking about a new rising star on the Danish folk music scene in particular, Torben Kaas.

On "On the other hand" Torben demonstrates his considerable talent as a singer / songwriter, with these eleven highlights. Strong debut from this "Danish troubadour
