St. John's Primary School speech ensemble performs an adaptation of "Perspectives from the Jamaican MAP" written by Yvonne O. Coke. This event took place on Jamaica's Independence Day celebrations at King's House on August 6, 2009. St. John's Primary School from Spanish Town, Jamaica received a bronze medal for this piece earlier this year (2009) at the JCDC National Festival Competition parish finals.

Yvonne O. Coke is also the author of "Eternal Father Bless Our Land".

The video was kindly provided by the Jamaica Information Service.

  • This is very good. I am pleased with the performance of these wonderful, hopeful and God blessed children.

We are grateful for your comments. We hope you will spread this to all the Jamaicans in your e-mail listing and pass it on until we understand the full impact of what we have in the MAP and build the kind of country we hoped for at independence 1962. We are engaging Jamaicans at home and abroad to prepare to join hands across Jamaica from Negril to Morant Point for Jubilee 2012.

  • OUT OF MANY ONE PEOPLE UNLESS YOU ARE GAY!!

  • OMG I LOVE THIS VIDEO I REMEMBER WHEN I DID THIS :D

  • I believe Jamaica is ready for this movement at this time..The Island need to be taken back from the hands of the lawless and rebellious..Time for a change from unriughteousness to righteousness..Righteousness exalted a nation..but sin a reproach unto any people..Lord I pray for the mighty revival that is about to land on the shores of this beautiful island of Jamaica..Land that we love..Hear our cry today O Lord and attend unto our prayers...Amen

  • WHAT? Um. Rubbish. More thinly veiled religious fanaticism and brainwashing of kids who need to grow up knowing economics and science and sociology and politics and why Jamaica is in such a 'shituation'. What? M.A.P? A covenant with God? Seriously? Yvonne Coke this is opiate for under-educated masses whose only higher education is church and whose only schoolbook is Bible. Ten years from now these talented kids will watch this and wonder what the hell is this and who screwed up their dreams.

  • i love this video so much
