One of my friend have some trouble with reworking smd voltage regulators so I made this video for him. The hard thing is the back of the component acts as a heat sink and It's soldered to the board. A soldering iron useless in this case, but the solder paste and hot air are good for this.

  • I'm using Qualitek 619D (mesh type: 3) solder paste, but any solder paste will do the job. Only fine pitch components are require freshly mixed solder paste.

  • i got 3 SMD 5V voltage regulators on a board and as you said a soldering iron useless so i gonna take a pair of cutters and cut the board around and solder some wires :)), nice vid :)
