CHAPTER THREE :)

Kaitlyn's POV
I was at Sydney's house and we were hanging out in her room listening to music. Her mom yelled up the stairs for Sydney.
"I'll be right back." She ran out of the room and in less than 10 seconds she came back in with the phone in her hand. "Oh. My. God."
I just kind of stared at her. She kept repeating herself and that whole time someone was on the phone. Finally I just took the phone.
"Hello.." I said to the person on the other line. I regretted that decision right after I heard the other person speak.
"Kaitlyn, I need help." He said, bluntly.
"With what!?" I said very bitterly. I looked up and saw a look of disappointment on Sydney's face.
"With the project. This is so hard." He complained.
"Yeah, I know, thats why its called work."
"Come on Kaitlyn. Come over and help me." He begged me.
"No."
"Do you really want to get a bad grade on this?"
"I'm busy." I countered.
"Please, I'm begging you."
I let out a heavy sigh and managed to choke out, "Fine!" I immediately hung up the phone. "I have to go Syd." I grabbed all of my things and started to rush out the door.
"Wait, where are you going!?" Sydney called after me.
I turned around and sighed. "Nick's house, I have to help him with the project."
"Okay, call me when youre done." She said, flopping down on her bed.
"I will. See you later."

Nick's POV
I hung up the phone and my brother, Joe, came into the room.
"Hey, who were you talking to?" He asked, being nosy.
"Kaitlyn. Shes coming over to help me with the project."
"Oooo! My little bro is finally having a study date!" He teased.
"Its not a date, its just Kaitlyn." I explained.
"JUST KAITLYN!?" He looked at me, confused, after yelling that to me.
"Yeah, its just Kaitlyn." I said, kind of scared.
"Yeah, okay. You keep telling yourself that."
I just stared at Joe. Then my other brother, Kevin, walked in. Great.
"What are you two yelling about?" Kevin asked.
Joe spoke up before I could get the chance. "Kaitlyn's coming over for a study date!"
I hit him on the arm. "Joe!"
Kevin looked surprised. "Oh, wow. That's great, but how did you do it?"
"Shes my project partner and it's no big deal, okay!?" I defended, getting annoyed.
"What are you talking about? Wasn't she the one you couldn't stop talking about last year?" Kevin pointed out.
"So? I dont like her or anything!" I shouted.
The doorbell rang and they just stood there. I went and got the door. Kaitlyn looked less than pleased to be here.
"We'll leave you two alone." Kevin said, embarrassing me. Then they walked upstairs.
She walked past me, sat at the table and started to work.

Kaitlyn's POV
I was less than pleased to be there, but I wanted a good grade. So, I sat down and started to work. Nick quickly sat next to me and surprisingly, he was actually helping.
After a little while, his brother came down. "Way to go Nick."
"Shut up Joe!" Nick snapped back. Joe walked away and I was really confused. I looked over at Nick.
"What was that about?" I asked him curiously.
He froze. His hands, his face and every other part of his body. He just froze.
I waved my hand in front of his face. "Hello? Nick..."
He quickly turned his head and looked right at me. Our eyes met and stayed that way until my phone started to ring and I could see relief in his eyes.
"I'll be right back." I walked away and picked up my phone. "Hey, whats up?" I spoke into the phone.
It was Dylan. "Nothing. Do you want to hang out?"
I looked around the corner to where Nick was sitting. I bit my lip. "Um sure. I'll be over soon."
"Great. Bye babe."
"Yeah, bye" I hung up and slowly walked over to Nick.
"Hey, who was that?" he asked.
"Nobody, but I have to go." I quickly grabbed my things and headed for the door.

-THE NEXT DAY-
I had science again today. Except when I looked over at Nick, he didn't look back, like he usually does. I knew something was wrong but I just tried to forget it.
I was walking in the hallway after science class with Sydney and I heard someone yelling my name.
"Kaitlyn! Slow down!" I turned around and Nick was pretty much running towards me.
Sydney looked confused. "I'll see you in geometry." She walked away.
I turned around to face Nick, he looked mad.
