I used to love people like Michael Barrymore, Bob Monkhouse, Jim Bowen etc they were funny genuine and made people feel at ease at the time. then the PC brigade (You know who are you gretins!) moan esp about Barrymore, and now we have 3rd rate reality programs and wall to wall depressing soaps. Id love to see Barrymore and Strike it Lucky back id like to see Bullseye and Jim Bowen back proper stars that make the constestant and the viewer feel at ease.

@malygoat I'd take this over a lot of today's so-called Comedy. Yes, it's not as funny as it was back in the 90s, but Barrymore would have evolved his act if he was still at the top today. I know you were not slagging him off and just replying to people who were. I greatly missed his shows when he was taken off the air but it would be very hard for him to come back now, although I did enjoy seeing him on Come Dine With Me recently.

People are judging Barrymore on today's comedy. But in the 90s this sort of crappy slap-stick was amusing.

@harveyderf HAHAHA. i bet you're 55 now, and this ruined your childhood. you've been sat in a corner rocking backwards and forwards ever since.

This guy is a complete prick. I was dragged to some lame Butlins show of his when I was on holiday & just a kid. During a rendition of the 'Birdy Song' & handed the microphone by Barrymore at the pivotal 'shake your....' line I said 'arse'. The small turd I guess, didn't like a kid stealing the show & his laughs so he told me off for 'swearing'. Whatever dude I was funnier than you'll ever be! You bloody tosspot!

@BooNube actually, I believe Michael Barrymore had admitted that he was gay, and people didn't want to know him anymore.

people may think michael barrymore doesn't deserve a career because how nice he was back then and now he isn't because they accused him of something and he was hiding his bitter side good job he don't ave a career, now that's what people may say but i disagree that man has every right to be as bitter as he become after being accused like that , wouldn't you ?? MAN OR WOMAN ?? we wud all do that ( become as bitter ) and besides we all act a little fake in the sense of politeness especially on tv
Whatever he did or didn't do, its a bloody shame his career's over. He really was a great family entertainer back in the day.
Let's face facts though, he's long past the point of no return.
