漂着する深海魚ミズウオ（a large deep-sea fish washed ashore）

駿河湾興津の沿岸を歩いていると、体長約１ｍのミズウオが自然に打ちあがる場面に遭遇しました。
このあと海へ戻ることは出来ず、カラスの餌になってしまいました。

ミズウオは湘南ではミズボウと言っています。200m以下の深場­釣りで時々釣れます.

口を開けると歯がオオカミみたいに鋭く見えます。肉質の水分量が­多いせいか、放っておくと骨と皮だけに干涸びてしまいます。食べ­た事はありません。

Thanks for the heads up, I know some species come to the surface when their old and die, maybe their magnetic field sensory fails at an old age.

I wouldn't have stood there and filmed it writhing around suffocating, the first thing i would have thought is "maybe it's navigated itself here by accident" and thrown back out deeper (to give it a chance)

Its an element of compassion and empathy for all living things, that is not displayed in this video. its only a fish though, i know. but stll : )

most deep sea animals done comes to shore, like this one often goes ashore to die anyway. so in short, it looks like that it was about to die anyway. and we really don't know why sea animals do this. so either way, the person could not do anything for it anyway :<
