Learn how to use the VLOOKUP function in Excel to search a database or table array which contains lookup values that have prefixes. This allows you to only have to enter part of the lookup value for the vlookup function and still have it work. This problem might arise if you search employee id numbers but the database includes a division prefix before the id numbers. This tutorial essentially combines text with formulas in order to streamline the lookup process in Excel.

Have a great day!
