I liked Christopherr Hitchens saying that religion was our first and worst attempt at explaining the world. I also watched a series of lectures called Beyond Belief and Neil Degrasse Tyson gave an excellent lecture about how scientists throughout history have got so far with their investigations, then hit a point where they just marvelled at everything and said god did it. Newton and the planets, Huygens and living cells, it seems to be a common trait.
You know what occurred to me a week ago was that top creationist that counter arguments by the real science of evolution must also really understand evolution to counter it!
I mean somewhere there must be some evangelicals that are working within the church that have a secular perspective to use for the advancement and promotion of the business of faith.
@funsizedchoco

The Christian God is so complicated, Jupiter must have created it.
Minerva is so awesome, that Jupiter must have generated Minerva in his brain, that's flawless irreducible complexity argument used for another deity.

Ah well, another cognitive trap to avoid...

Welcome back. You provide an excellent point, and even show that you are trying to see things from another view.

Many Christians are responsible for proving how the God of the Gaps fallacy is flawed.

I remember asking a creationist how his god created everything, and he answered: "Does it matter?"
That about sums it all up, doesn't it

you hit the nail on the head
the "I don't know how X happened so god did it" is a lazy way of thinking

Yay, it has been a long time! :)
Sure, the initial impulse it's understandable. Everything else that is complex and works is in fact designed.
I'm on the edge of my seat, thrilled to see what the next vid is about... and I was just ready to go to bed... :/
