Riot police, helicopters and armoured personnel carriers have moved on Pearl Square in the Bahraini capital Manama.




Clashes broke out between security forces and protesters as police cleared pro-democracy demonstrators from makeshift camps.




Helicopters swooped overhead and teargas rained down as youths confronted police.




As many as four people are reported dead.




The violence comes a day after Bahrain's king declared martial law as the government battles to quash an uprising by the island's Shi'ite majority.

  • He should have stayed home and would not have been shot. Those rioters are attacking ordinary people in Bahrain.

    Do u think United Nations will just comment on ametuar videos ?? It has credibile reports and why would UN Lie about Bahrain especially when the King is an US puppet. Al Khalifa is an US agent in the region and victimises its own people. It has hunger for power and money thats why it acts as an US agent in the region to stay in power
