Sand Animation performed by me at The University of Tulsa, for the international night 2005. THis technique was used earlier by few artists. My favourite is Ferenc Caco from Hungary.

  • Sorry to say, but what Cako performed in SICAF 2003, Seoul was much better..

  • Thanks for the comment. Ofcourse he is much better. But i am not an expert like him. He is a world known artist and is in his 60s and this is his profession. And this is my first time and i did this for an international night at my university. But thanks for the honest comment :)

Just so you know Cako did not use regular sand. Its a special mesh grain with extreme uniformity in weight and size + the screen is not glass neither plastic its special to HOLD sand rather than slide so it stays as you please. The light below the canvas is covered under a special cloth so that the source is not localized and bright in one place. The above piece of work will improve tenfold if its done in professional way with the right material, investment and planning (not a day!)

  • your good...you show it is not easy as Cako makes it look. it is hard

  • Dude, ignore that last comment - I thought this was brillliant! Ferenc Cako, as you said is famous and has been doing this for years. Keep on! I wish I could do this
