Hi All....GL had years and years to recover from this. They KNEW that it was a huge mistake. With all of the other "return from the dead" stories out there, Maureen's could have easily been done. Roger somehow could have fixed things so his one friend in Springfield would secretly be shipped off for treatment away from Springfield and Ed. Vanessa could have found a comotose Maureen at that convent that Roger shipped Vanessa to while she was faking her own death.

This is what killed Guiding Light.........when Maureen died so did the show. It outraged fans so much that the show was never able to recover. It was only a matter of time before it got cancelled.
