I think a few Norwegians and Danes might object to Stockholm being called the capital of Scandinavia.

There is of course no such thing as the capital of Scandinavia.

The clip is made by a tourist company but I like the title for this video as it somehow represented all of scandinavia (but maybe in a condescending way for all non-swedes)

And me, being from Gothenburg, the rival city of Stockholm I don't even like Stockholm being the capital of Sweden ;)

Regardless of what 'side' you are on, this whole "who's side was Hitler on?" thing is stupid and pointless. I mean if you really think either most christians or atheists today have anything to do with Hitler's way of thinking, you are either delusional, or it is a cowardly attempt to make someone who disagrees with you look evil without addressing their actual views on things. The only people who are nazis today are sociopaths on the fringes of society.

No im sorry now your just wrong by definition, even if I granted your statement communism could still be athiestic. athiesm litterally means no God not no religion, there are blenty of athiestic religions like buddhism for example.

The problem with the example you gave is they were inherently religious in nature, the head, the belief, the way they went about things. The whole purpose was for people to worship Stalin, not as the saviour from religion but as the religion of Stalin!

@TheSpankymonkey actually mate athiesm was something that heavily influenced both stalin and chinas communism, thats why both destroyed religius instituations stalin wiped out 99 percent of all the churches in russa as an example. and like I said Sweden is secular it isnt an athiest institution the whole point of secularism is that everything has equal say, not so in a purely athiest country. as I have said before

@tarasan1 "like stalins communism or china?" - They are run by different ideologies that have absolutely nothing to do with their athiesm. If anything the problem with the examples you mention is they are or were too much like religions, with the leaders placed in a position of worship etc. You seem to be conflating governing ideology with atheism. The question is what would it be like if everyone was atheist instead of bible junkies. Looking to Scandinavia is a very valid example.

@TheSpankymonkey like stalins communism or china? I dont think that it as cut and dry, as you think it is, and the countries that you are thinking of arnt athest countries (i assume you mean countries like sweden) they are secular they just happen to have alot of athiests.

@tarasan1 "our views are always going to baised." - Thats is why we try to base things on facts, rather than views. We can of course look to examples of atheist countries and see no reason on earth to validate theistic claims that it would be anything like what they think it will be.
